The Advantages of Pavers for Driveways

Once you have made the decision to install a driveway the next thing that you have to think about is what type of surface it will have. Usually the debate is between concrete or asphalt with the decision usually being based on the climate where you live. One increasingly popular option however is to use pavers for driveways.

Driveway pavers are basically big bricks that are interlocked to form the surface of your driveway. In most cases they are made out of concrete although you can also get cobblestone pavers and even plastic pavers.

The main advantage that driveway pavers have to offer is that they are easier to install, they require no heavy equipment. They can also be repaired much easier, if you crack a paver you can simply remove it and put in a new one. This is why it is usually recommended that you keep a few extras around after they are installed.

A properly installed paver driveway should last for thirty years without any problem which makes them more durable than concrete or asphalt driveways.

One thing that you are going to have to consider when choosing driveway pavers is the cost, this can vary dramatically. You can create all kinds of fancy designs for your driveway but the more elaborate it is the more expensive it will be.

All in pavers make a good option for a driveway and are something that you should consider before going straight to asphalt or concrete.
