Electric Gate Openers:
Choosing the right gate opener is a fairly simple matter, the first thing to look at is the power supply. The best option is to have a gate that runs off of the AC power supply to your house. Unfortunately in a lot of cases this means running power to the end of your driveway which greatly adds to the expense. A much less expensive option is to use battery power with a solar cell to recharge, these are very affordable and can be installed quite easily.
The only other real considerations when choosing electric gate openers is to make sure that you get one that is powerful enough for the weight of your gate and that it opens in the appropriate manner, you would not want a swing gate opener if you have a sliding gate for example.
